Esteemed French composer Stéphane Delplace, known for his love and deep knowledge of Bach’s music, has just reviewed the entire recording of the Well-Tempered Clavier from the Bach48 Album: “George Lepauw, who evidently does not know any limits of virtuosity, decides very simply to obey all that his sure-footed instinct dictates, delivering us here a Bach as alive as he can be, in his most human depth.”
Delplace, who has composed numerous works, including a monumental three-volume collection of Preludes and Fugues modeled after Bach, but in the 30 keys, is an unapologetic harmonicist in a world of atonalists. Having his thoughts be part of the Bach48 Album is a great honor!
